Microblog: Thoughts on Animal Welfare

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. Every single living thing depends on something from animals. ⚠️And the truth is that if you prioritize animals, and then not consume any, then you are never prioritizing human life— including your own and your very own children. ⛑I will always be for the people and will advocate for humans to thrive. 💡We should always respect and treat animals kindly but that’s not the same as saving their life in lieu of mine. —📺 Full interview on YouTube https://youtu.be/4z0-7Lc1bOo 🎙Full interview on podcast: https://nutritionwithjudy.buzzsprout.com/1848795/11156032-197-the-real-environmental-impact-of-eating-meat-dr-peter-ballerstedt ...

Microblog: Coke vs. Orange Juice – Sugary Drinks

Orange juice is not ideal. 🍊Yes, there are more nutrients in orange juice than in coca-cola, but it does not change the amount of sugar in orange juice. The fact is that it has more sugar than coca cola. ⚠️In the mornings, when we come out of fasting overnight, if our first swig of liquid is orange juice, it gets absorbed quickly into the liver. Do this multiple times a day and you can risk fatty liver disease. 🍭If orange juice was the only drink of sugar and sipped throughout the day, sure it’s probably a non-issue. But consider all the other sugary and carby foods we eat throughout the day. ❓It’s no wonder children are becoming obese, type II diabetic, and sick with NAFLD. 📖Last week, I wrote an in-depth article...

Microblog: Mental Health and Gut Issues

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. Gut issues affect mental health. Gut issues affect sleep. 💡One reason is that most neurotransmitters are in the gut. ❓So what affects the gut? Many factors but one main aspect is our food. ⚠️Most of our packaged foods are ultra processed and cause metabolic illness. 🥩Autumn from @paleovalley shares how she healed her gut and mental illness with real foods and adding more meat to her diet. 📦As she healed, she was inspired to make quality products that could help others heal.—📺 Full interview on YouTube https://youtu.be/j9h_dm0CJRg 🎙Full interview on podcast: https://nutritionwithjudy.buzzsprout.com/1848795/11390866-196-healing-gut-health-and-mental-health-with-meat-autumn-smith ...

Microblog: Lessons Learned as a Provider

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. We are all different. God intended it to be that way, and that’s what makes humans beautiful. 💡No diet will work for every single person— even if you follow it perfectly. And frankly if you have to do that, something more root-cause is going on. 🩺And every single provider understands this because every single patient challenges status quo. You become flexible when clinical practice doesn’t exactly match studies. 👋🏼As a practitioner you learn to let go of dogma. Otherwise you’ll end up eating humble pie or you’ll never truly help your patients. Always get to root cause. But that said, there are diet fundamentals:🥩Eat mostly fatty meat. The operative word is fatty.🥓Eat a variety of meat (long-term—not when you’re using meat as a therapeutic tool).💧Drink...

Microblog: Carnivore a Fast Mimicking Diet?

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. Something to consider if we think carnivore is a fast-mimicking diet. 📖@CarnivoreCure excerpt: “Human growth hormone (HGH) helps to build muscle and bone mass, and fasting increases HGH production. 🍽Fasting promotes the preservation of muscle mass to help ensure human survival. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism found that levels of growth hormone increased fourfold after just two days of fasting.337 Fasting also helps with autophagy. 🦠Fasting promotes the cellular cleansing process that breaks down and recycles damaged molecules and cells (autophagy). There is a similar process called apoptosis (programmedcell death) and necroptosis (another programmed cell death). 🛡All these processes clean out old, damaged cells and make room for new, healthier cells (reference Figure 18.5)338 🔥The most effective way to turn on...

Microblog: Progression Over Perfection

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. We tend to think if we aren’t healing, it’s because we aren’t perfect enough. 💡It’s usually not the case. 🥩Yes, healing takes time and cleaner eating with less hiccups can allow for faster healing. ❤️‍🩹But healing from big illnesses are rarely because you aren’t perfect enough in your diet. (I work with some of the most severe chronic illness sufferers). 🦠Eat as clean as you can but also know that sometimes there’s a deeper root cause than diet. When we remove the noise of diet, it becomes a lot more clear.—📺 Full interview on YouTube with @polyfacefarm: https://youtu.be/rmqyfvWIKKs 🎙Full interview on podcast: https://nutritionwithjudy.buzzsprout.com/1848795/11136509-193-cows-carbon-and-climate-polyface-farm-s-joel-salatin-and-regenerative-agriculture ...

Microblog: Dangers of Growing Corn, Wheat and Soy

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. Eating corn, wheat, and soy is not just that about the diet. Most of the corn raised in America is genetically modified (GMO). 🌾Much of the wheat and soy in America is also genetically modified. ⚠️When we use most of our soils for monocropping, we end up depleting our soils long term. @polyfacefarm Joel Salatin shares the why.—📺 Full interview on YouTube with @polyfacefarm: https://youtu.be/rmqyfvWIKKs 🎙Full interview on podcast: https://nutritionwithjudy.buzzsprout.com/1848795/11136509-193-cows-carbon-and-climate-polyface-farm-s-joel-salatin-and-regenerative-agriculture ...

Microblog: Stand for What You Believe

Stand for what you believe. Because this is how we evoke change. When I first started NwJ, I was much more cautious with my shares. To be honest, I wanted to be liked and accepted. Since writing @CarnivoreCure that has changed. 🐄I stand strong with my beliefs: in personalized meat-only Carnivore being the best approach for chronic illness to standard care's nutritional advice being wrong (fiber, cholesterol, faux-meats). 🥩We've been duped with the recommended dietary allowances, and just about everything else (organic plants doesn't always mean better). 🔥Disillusionment is putting it mildly. ⚠️In the wellness space, I’ve seen ideologies pushed because they worked for X person. Well X person isn’t everyone. Dogma goes out the door when you have a clinical practice. Every patient challenges you to rethink and eat some...

Microblog: How Schooling Impacts Our Adult Lives

Watch the clip here. Watch the full interview here. The way we were taught—whether at home or at school—affects us for the rest of our lives. 💡If you came from an authoritarian parent and strict teachers, you will have a tendency to listen to authority very well. (There’s always outliers). ❓Schooling will forever impact our lives. So how do you choose to learn and choose to teach your children?—📺 Full interview on YouTube with @mattbeaudreau: https://youtu.be/i-EjjiVlzT4 🎙Full interview on podcast: https://nutritionwithjudy.buzzsprout.com/1848795/11227005-taking-education-back-into-our-own-hands-matt-beaudreau ...
