Microblog: Is Beef Liver REALLY a Superfood?

Is Beef liver REALLY a superfood?   💊 One bottle of 750mg beef liver capsules contains 120 capsules providing thirty (4) capsule servings. To meet the RDA for folate, you’ll need 32 capsules daily.   🚨One bottle will provide LESS THAN FOUR servings of RDA’s daily folate needs.   👑Other companies (take a guess) require SIX capsules for the same serving.   ❓Why are liver supplements being pushed as a rich source of folate?   🚨 We hear vitamin A deficiency is common. It’s not. It’s so much not that food labels have removed vitamin A listings on packages. https://www.fda.gov/food/food-labeling-nutrition/changes-nutrition-facts-label   🍊(They also removed vitamin C… maybe we don’t need as much vitamin C as they say).   ⚠️ Unusually high levels of copper have been found in women who’ve had a history of postpartum depression. Women who use copper...

Microblog: Best Sources of Folate. Why Do We Think Folate Is Best From Beef Liver?

Why do we think folate is best from beef liver?   Great marketing, perhaps.   🚺 In pregnancy all nutritional demands increase, including folate.   📝 According to the CDC, only folic acid (not folate) was proven to prevent NTD birth defects and it recommends that all women of reproductive age to consume 400mcg of Folic Acid daily, in addition to consuming foods with folate.   🐓Folate animal-based foods include: Liver, Eggs, Seafood, Fish, Meat and Dairy   👑If you need folate, chicken liver is king.   Yes, chicken liver and not beef liver.   ⚠️ Beef Liver has SOME folate but not nearly the amount people expect. You need to consume 5 ounces of beef liver to get your daily folate levels.   5 ounces.   5 ounces of beef liver has: ⚠️Too much vitamin A (retinol) (789% of your daily value) ⚠️Too much copper...

Microblog: Is Folate-Deficiency a Concern on a Carnivore Diet?

Is folate-deficiency a concern on a carnivore diet?   Maybe.   🤰🏻Folate is important for basic cell function and cell growth, helps make red blood cells and DNA, and needed for a healthy pregnancy.   💧Folate is a water-soluble vitamin, it can’t be stored in your body for long periods—folate stores in the liver, tissues and blood.   Folate deficiency can be caused by: 🤕 Infection/health condition that causes inflammation, cancer, sickle cell anemia   🥴 Digestive disorders that cause malabsorption   🍷Excessive alcohol use   💊 Use of medications including – antacids, NSAIDs, contraceptives, estrogen, anti-diabetics, corticosteroids, anticonvulsants, barbiturates, methotrexate (used to treat psoriasis/cancer/arthritis)   💡CONSIDERATIONS Since there have been discussions around folate, I find many carnivore clients starting to test their folate levels; some of them find that they are low.   ❓What were their folate levels before? Spinach is one of the highest...

Microblog: Can Meat be Healing?

Watch the clip here.   Watch the full interview here.   If you told me during my 12 years of being plant-based that a lot of my mental issues would go away with meat, I would have laughed.   💔 I thought that my plant-based, whole-foods diet was perfectly healthy and I was just born broken. My serotonin wasn’t working properly and I needed meds. I had to work on my eating disorder by eating all foods in moderation and practicing intuitive and mindful eating.   But doing all those things didn’t work.   💊I was on the highest dose of SSRIs, and even with the addition of anti-psychotics, I wasn’t doing much better (and I was gaining weight).   🥩Out of pure desperation, I tried all-meat carnivore because even a plant-based keto diet (high-fat) didn’t work.   💡While I still...

Microblog: Mold: The Root Cause Behind Food Sensitivities?

Watch the clip here.   Watch the full interview here.   I will always advocate for a meat-only or all-meat carnivore diet. It is arguably the most anti-inflammatory diet (research paper to come!)   💡While diet can be incredibly powerful, it is not the end-all answer for healing or optimal health.   🔎Once you dial into a meat-based diet but still not close to optimal health, it’s time to dig deeper.   🥩When we eat only one kind of meat because that’s all we tolerate for years—that’s not optimal healing.   It’s a band-aid.   We need to fight for more.   🦠Once we clean up the diet and enough time has passed, it’s time to look at environmental toxins. There’s too many to list but one big one is CIRS (which is largely affected by mold and water-damaged buildings).   ⚠️And no, taking a...

Microblog: Why Carnivore and CIRS (Mold)

Watch the clip here.   Watch the full interview here.   Kelly had some healing once she started eating an all-meat carnivore diet. But she found root-cause healing with Carnivore + Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).   Some things that didn’t heal with carnivore alone, but healed with Carnivore + CIRS: 🌟 Ability to sweat 🌟 Histamine reactions (she never could have dairy or certain meats) 🌟 Ability (if she chose to) to eat plants 🌟 Sleeping through the night (deep sleep from 30 mins to 2 hours average) 🌟 Less brain fog 🌟 increased energy 🌟 Less negative and emotional thoughts (mold can cause dark thoughts) 🌟 Clear skin 🌟 Balanced electrolytes (it’s not a carnivore issue!) 🌟 Improved hormone balance 🌟 No more dry mouth   Kelly is still working on some things but after 5+ years of all-meat carnivore, she’s finding root-cause healing...

Microblog: What is CIRS?

After working with a thousand Carnivore clients, I know there sometimes is a deeper root cause issue. And one significant root cause is Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).   🔥CIRS is a multi-system, multi-symptom inflammatory illness from exposure to a biotoxin. (e.g., water damaged buildings)   🦠Homes and buildings are issues because of the paper and porous material used that once in contact with water, can produce mold spores (if not completely dry) in 48 hours. Mold spores break down into dead particles and fragments that we end up breathing in. (why mycotoxin and air samples aren’t the best tests)   ❤️‍🩹Some people can heal from mold exposure overtime (especially if they are removed from exposure) but an estimated 25% of the population cannot clear the toxins. That’s 40-70 million people.   🧠This...

Microblog: Truth About Animal vs. Plant Proteins

Watch the clip here.   Watch the full interview here.   Animal and plant proteins are not created the same. They are not digested, absorbed or assimilated the same.   Plant proteins also have limiting amino acids and sometimes the proteins can only be used to the level of the limiting amino acid.   If you eat mostly plant-based protein, you are most likely deficient in amino acids.   Eat meat and you don’t have to worry about any of these things.   —  Full interview on YouTube. https://youtu.be/wLHWb-fMcOg   Full interview on podcast: https://nutritionwithjudy.buzzsprout.com/1848795/11879627-207-case-for-carnivore-evidence-based-reasons-for-why-the-carnivore-diet-is-ideal-for-chronic-illness...

Microblog: Every Single Human THRIVES with Animals

📚After writing @CarnivoreCure, I can say with certainty that there is NO person who does not survive without animals. In fact, if you want to THRIVE, you NEED animals.   ❓Don’t believe me?   1️⃣Look below to see the slide with all the uses for cows. From medicine to automobile needs, cow parts are fully utilized for a variety of applications that we need on a daily basis.   2️⃣Did you know that harvesting these mass-produced GMO crops causes more deaths per animal count than eating animals? Yes, you are killing rodents, birds, snakes, bugs, and the entire ecosystem by being plant-based. Read that again. Mono-crop agriculture isn't natural, leading to stripped soil and disseminated wildlife. The topsoil becomes so absent of ingredients that this impacts the nutritional quality of the...
