On Sundays, I spotlight one of your inspirational carnivore stories to share with the community. It takes a village and in this case, it’s this amazing tribe.⠀

Mary has been Keto over 5.5 years and the last 2-3 years are meat-based with bouts of carnivore 30-90 days at a time.⠀

🥩 TYPE 2 DIABETES: Reversed Type 2 Diabetes and maintain and A1C of 4.9⠀
🥩 BLOOD PRESSURE: Returned my blood pressure to normal .⠀
🥩 MEDICATION FREE: No more medications for both symptoms.⠀
🥩 ASTHMA/ALLERGY: No more asthma and allergy issues 🥩 SLEEP APNEA: No more sleep apnea, snoring .⠀
🥩 PSORIASIS: No new psoriasis breakouts .⠀
🥩 MENTAL HEALTH: No more depression or fatigue⠀

I rarely get sick with a minor cold twice in over 5.5 years that I’ve been eating real foods.⠀

1️⃣ GO COLD TURKEY. Trying to wean yourself off things you are addicted to only prolongs the agony and keeps the cravings coming. ⠀
2️⃣ KEEP FOOD SIMPLE. But try a variety of animal foods. Avoid too many recipes that may overwhelm you. ⠀
3️⃣ DON’T ANNOUNCE. Don’t announce your plans to friends and loved ones who may be unsupportive about what you’re doing. Just do your thing. When they see your results they’ll ask questions.⠀

My recommendation for keto/carnivore: It’s a great tool to get you started on the road to recovery from an eating disorder, ie sugar addiction, binge eating, bulimia-because not only is it physically satiating, it gives you mental clarity/clears out the brain fog which gives you the mental wherewithal to deal with the root causes of why you are disordered with food. Just changing the way you eat won’t fix that eating disorder, but it paves the way for you to do the mental/emotional work that needs to be done to recover.
