Most people that transition to a Carnivore diet tend to have gut health issues. In fact, most people have digestive issues and need gut health support. Even though Carnivore, if done properly, is the ultimate elimination diet, nearly everyone can benefit from more stomach acid (HCl), digestive enzymes, commensal spore probiotics, and IgG immunoglobulins to remove toxins.
There are so many toxins in our foods, water and environment that gut healing has become mandatory for optimal health. Most of us would do better by improving our gut health. Why have a hard time transitioning to Carnivore when you can use support in the beginning to expedite the healing process?
If you have runs or unstable bowel movements after months on carnivore, you probably should look into digestive support. I can’t stress the importance of gut health. Almost all your neurotransmitters are created in the gut. 70-80% of your immune cells are in the gut. Nearly 80% of your nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine.
Is it any wonder why gut health is so critical? The goal is to take these gut supporting supplements while you transition and taper off these supplements as you heal with the Carnivore diet. Ideally, we should not be taking supplements forever.
Limit acid blocker, histamine blockers and proton pump inhibitors. They relieve acid reflux temporarily but they cause more damage to our bodies long term. If you absolutely have to, the lesser of these evils, are antacids (without aluminum is best). Did you know these are supposed to be used for 2 weeks? How many of us take these for decades? ⠀
Beta Plus and Hydro-zyme can help acid reflux by supporting the breakdown of nutrient dense meats with more stomach acid (Betaine HCl, Ox Bile and Lipase). Instead of the acid coming back up the esophagus, the Hydrochloric acid in the stomach will ideally break down the foods to then be absorbed in the small intestine. The longer you have taken any form of antacids, the more time it will take to heal but healing is possible. I have had several clients that took prescription-strength antacids for over 20 years and now only take Hydro-zyme with their meats and rarely ever suffer from heartburn. ⠀
Get to the root cause. What is Hydro-zyme and Beta Plus? Let me introduce you to the tried and true Nutrition with Judy Gut Healing Kit. Yes, every single one of my clients have taken these digestive supports and sees results pretty quickly, especially if they were struggling with loose stools and bacteria or fungal overgrowth.
My Gut Healing Kit is a combination of four powerful nutritional supplements and a collagen-rich, gut support bone broth guide for optimal gut health.
By now, we all know probiotics are beneficial for supporting our good gut buddies. The problem with any probiotic off the shelf is that some require refrigeration and some aren’t made from the best strains, fillers or even sourcing. MegaSpore Probiotics is spore based and has 100% survivability. It has also been clinically proven to heal leaky gut—without a change in diet!
If your strains need to be refrigerated, I’d question the efficacy of the probiotic. If it can’t survive temperature fluctuations, how will it survive the acidity of our digestive tract? If the sourcing and fillers aren’t of the highest quality, you may be doing more harm to the liver and kidneys. These detoxing systems then have to work to filter out the toxins in the body.
I’d never recommend a diet other than one of nutrient dense foods but it’s powerful to see how effective these MegaSpore Probiotics are at healing the gut, reducing inflammation and letting the good gut buddies thrive.
You can ensure nutrient dense foods are being digested and the nutrients absorbed by having more stomach acid and the proper acidic pH of the stomach. This will prepare foods to be in the chyme-form ready for the small intestine to absorb nutrients. This is what Hydro-Zyme does to help support gut health. In fact, almost all Americans (90%) are deficient in stomach acid (HCl).
Hydro-Zyme provides digestive support via supplemental Betaine hydrochloride, Pepsin, Pancreatin, along with other known synergists. It may be considered when the need for supplemental hydrochloric acid and/or Pancreatin are indicated.
Beta Plus supports bile production and fat digestion. Beta Plus is a source of ox bile salts, digestive enzymes and organic beet concentrate, along with SOD and catalase. Beta plus supports healthy bile production. Bile serves as a fat emulsifier, allowing fat to become water-soluble and better absorbed. Some people produce adequate levels of bile. However, the bile produced is too thick and thus may result in biliary stasis. Intolerances for fatty meals, gas, bloating, constipation, headaches or pain after eating that refers to the shoulder (scapula) are all functional signs that biliary function may be altered.
Beta-Plus is designed to improve gallbladder function and support improving fat metabolism, gas and bloating symptoms. This also thins bile and improves bile flow and helpful in reducing gallstones especially when accompanied by dietary changes. It is often used for people without gallbladders.
MegaIgG2000 is a dairy-free immunoglobulin concentrate that supports healthy digestion, neutralizes environmental toxins, and improves gut barrier function. Ideal to take with MegaSpore Probiotic to ensure any endotoxins like LPS are removed from the body.
Unlike other milk-derived immunoglobulins on the market, Mega IgG2000 is derived from bovine serum, making it lactose-free, casein-free, and β-lactoglobulin-free. ( β-lactoglobulin is the major whey protein of cow and sheep’s milk)
Collagen contains key amino acids needed to help maintain a healthy intestinal barrier, tissue repair and support healthy bones and joints. Nothing is better than getting collagen from homemade bone broth, even if you have histamine intolerance.
This 16-page bone broth guide has several of the favorited Nutrition with Judy infographics and is print-ready. This guide talks through the various essential vitamins and minerals in both broth as well as the types of bones to use for more collagen and gelatin-rich bone broth. What is the difference between collagen and gelatin? It’s in the guide. Also included is a list of spices that are lowest in antinutrients that you may use for seasoning your broths and meat stocks. It also provides information on salts and why iodized salt isn’t ideal. Finally, there’s a storage guide for both refrigeration and freezer uses.
