Cheryl Huftalen

Cheryl Huftalen is a certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Functional Supplement Specialist, Advanced Nutrition Response Testing® Practitioner, and a certified Trauma Sensitive HeartMath Practitioner. Cheryl became passionate about her health and the health of those around her initially through her own struggles. She learned in her early twenties that she was not getting to the root cause of her issues in doctor’s offices where diet, toxic exposures, toxin accumulations, supplements, traumas, and mindset were not being addressed.

Learning the hard way, Cheryl was one of the chronically sensitive individuals who was reacting to her environment and virtually all foods she was consuming on a daily basis. She knew she needed help in a more non-traditional way where she could work on her digestion, hormones, detoxification, and stress. This led Cheryl down a long path with many ups and downs to change her health, her career, and ultimately her whole life.

After completing her BA in Nuclear Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey and Georgian Court University, Cheryl spent nearly two decades working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. During this career, she was able to see first-hand where the Standard American Diet renders so many people. She also witnessed doctors not listening to their patients, flaws of the standard allopathic care model, and health insurance companies ultimately choosing the next steps for patients.

Cheryl quickly learned these patients would not be going through what they were had they been addressing root causes within their bodies and changing their diets drastically. She was surrounded by unhealthy patients eating low-fat, highly-processed, and high-carbohydrate diets. She knew this path of sick care was not her career end all, be all. Being raised on a very poor diet, taking many rounds of antibiotics, having many oral surgeries, and career in nuclear medicine along with her various other health trials and tribulations shaped the passionate practitioner she is today.

Cheryl is forever dedicated to listening to her clients. Everyone’s journey is special and lined with many struggles that need to be addressed at the root. Every symptom and emotion has significant meaning and is something never to be dismissed. Cheryl knows what it feels like to truly not feel well day in and day out and is never one to take that lightly. She has lived through the plant-based way of eating and has now long been eating a diet consisting mainly of a rainbow of meats. Cheryl knows through her own experience when you change the way you think, work on your mindset, get on a personalized carnivore-based diet, practice faith, get plenty of fresh air, and daily movement you can relax more and see the glimmers of light and hope.

Cheryl is married to her husband John, who balances her out perfectly.  Together they have one son who she knows would not be here today had she stayed on her old health path. Cheryl and her family reside in Ocean County, New Jersey with their ketogenic bearded dragon lizard.
