Microblog: What to Drink on Carnivore

WHAT TO DRINK…

💧The ideal drink on carnivore is water.

🧂If you consider minerals, unrefined salt or sole water (soaked overnight) is ideal.

💡Adding some iodine in the mornings is also ideal. (no, you cannot overdose on iodine).

🥘If bone broth is considered a drink, I recommend homemade bone broth for collagen, glycine, and minerals.

💦I have an article or two on tap water vs. ideal filtered water. You can read more at: https://www.nutritionwithjudy.com/truths-of-tap-and-mineral-water/

☕️Coffee is a tricky one. But if you drink coffee, try to stick to one cup in the mornings and limit after 12PM.

💤The main reason coffee isn’t ideal later in the day is because of the half-life of caffeine. If you’re a coffee drinker and having trouble sleeping at night, you may want to reduce your coffee consumption.

💧If you enjoy coffee but don’t need the caffeine, try some swiss water decaf coffee. Swiss water decaf doesn’t use harsh solvents to remove the caffeine.

🦠For teas and coffee, they can be harborers of mold so if you suffer with any mold sensitivity, you may need to stop these drinks.

🍂With teas, sticking to herbal teas are ideal. Lavendar tea isn’t ideal as lavendar can be an endocrine disruptor.

💡Mineral water from Italy is fine on occasion but don’t drink too much. An Italian study shared the higher amounts of uranium in mineral water. (I saw too many hair mineral tests and now I have to share this disclaimer…)

As always, find what works for you.
