What Carnivore has healed:⠀
It may seem counter intuitive, but this restrictive eating protocol which doesn’t advocate cheat days, works better for someone like me who struggles to moderate their eating habits.⠀

🥩 HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE/HYPERTENSION – I was someone who’s blood pressure was so awful I ended up in the hospital due to it, and even with medication it was still higher than the normal range. 3 months later it is sitting in the normal range and I think there’s a good chance my medication can be reduced or stopped entirely.⠀

🥩 BLOOD SUGAR – My fasting blood sugar had been creeping up slowly over the years, and was in the low 90s, but now I see measures in the low 70s when I take readings. My grandfather suffered from T2D and it did a lot of damage. I don’t want the same fate.⠀

🥩 WEIGHT LOSS – I’ve been very overweight most of my life and messing around with various diets, but how well my body has responded to this one has been very surprising. I know as I’ve gotten older, losing weight has gotten more difficult, but carnivore seems to defy that, seeing as I’ve lost over 50 lbs in about 3 months.⠀

🥩 JOINT PAIN – My knees and ankles bothered me a lot, especially after exercising, and now that never happens, and I’m definitely exercising a lot harder than I used to be. .⠀

3 Tips for Going Meat Based: ⠀
1️⃣If you’re cooking really fatty meats (like pork belly for example), be sure to SAVE THE DRIPPINGS, they are great for cooking things like eggs or leaner meat cuts, and if you’ve seasoned with salt, it will be both fatty and salty tasting.⠀

2️⃣Make sure you get enough WATER AND SALT DAILY, find a salt you like the flavor of, and use plenty of it. Also make sure you are drinking enough, if you find going by thirst alone is too subjective, determine how many fl oz you need daily, and track it.⠀

3️⃣THIS ISN’T A COMPETITION, you aren’t less of a carnivore because you want chicken instead of beef, or grain-finished instead of grass-finished. Also, don’t assume what kind of meat you want won’t change over time, and roll with it. It isn’t a sin to be pragmatic about these things.
