In my interview with Dr. Pete Delannoy, we talk about the various ways a gout flare may still occur on a low carb, ketogenic diet.
🍇One example we discussed was fruits.
🍎The dose makes the poison and this may be the case when it comes to fruits.
🔥The main culprits of higher uric acid levels is fructose, alcohol and purines.
🍭While fruit isn’t as bad as high fructose corn syrup, many fruits are higher in fructose than glucose.
🔎And while fiber in fruits may prevent some of the fructose absorption, the amount of fruit will depend on the person and the person’s medical history.
