Most people with metabolic syndrome seem to do well on carnivore.
⚖️Many people that are obese seem to lose weight on carnivore.
❓But what about the biohackers and athletes?
🍯Many people in the community tell me they need carbs before and during workouts. Without carbs they cannot lift as heavy.
🔮Well, there’s something called the nocebo effect.
🥀A nocebo effect occurs when negative expectations are thought to occur with the present situation or matter at hand.
💊For example, when a patient anticipates a side effect of a medication, they can suffer that effect even if the medication is actually a safe substance for that patient.
💡The mind-body connection is real.
🍭Some studies have shown that the mere belief in needing carbs for workouts makes the need for carbs to hold true.
🏋🏻♀️It’s not a body thing but a mind thing.
❓Do you need carbs for explosive workouts and heavy lifting?
🤷🏻♀️It depends on if you believe you do.
❌But physically, no, you don’t.
🎙I’ve interviewed enough fitness experts and researchers to know this holds true (and not all of them follow a meat-only carnivore diet).
💪🏼I had the pleasure of sitting down with @ketosavage and he shares how he gained his professional card as a natural bodybuilder.
And without carbs.
❗️As the clip shares, Robert has been coaching many athletes and bodybuilders with a high fat ketogenic diet. And Robert hasn’t had carbs in 7 years.
